A new study shows that senior care costs have surged to record levels in Arizona.
Since 2022, a private nursing home room in the state increased 23.7% to $137,240 per year; a semi-private nursing home room increased 16.5% to $100,375; and assisted living increased 22.5% to $74,220. The cost of adult day health care, however, decreased -69.8% to $24,700.
CareScout released a study on Where Senior Care Costs are Rising the Fastest after analyzing data from its 2022 and 2025 ‘Cost of Care Surveys’ across care settings nationwide.
CareScout’s annual‘Cost of Care’ surveys are considered to be the most trusted in the industry. The company attributes the rising costs to a rapidly aging population, lingering inflation, and staffing challenges in the healthcare space.
Nationally, costs have increased in every state since 2022, however there is a silver lining: for the first time since the pandemic, costs stabilized last year, up just 1.8% compared to 9.2% in 2024.
If this holds true, it would provide much needed relief to families across the nation.
