Prince St. Pizza’s latest promotion is just what rock and emo fans “knead.”
Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte helped create the pies to promote their North American tour that comes to Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre on Thursday, Aug. 27. The pizzas have been a hit with fans, according to general manager Trevor “Trey” Bogonko.

“The pizzas are awakening customers’ inner emo and pulling up,” he said. “They are faces from all ages and all demographics. It’s awesome to see.”
Dubbed “A Little Slice of Heaven,” Avenged Sevenfold’s offering has smoked mozzarella, spicy vodka sauce, beef pepperoni, sausage, pecorino Romano, pepperoni bits, Calabrian hot peppers are piled on top of black dough.
“We have black dough that we’ve tinted to give it almost a goth vibe,” Bongonko said. “I promise it’s not black because it’s burnt. We just used a little food dye. It tastes the same as our other dough. The coloring is just for ambiance.”
Good Charlotte’s Deserve You Pie goes in the opposite direction: garlic cream base, house mozzarella, mushrooms, crumbled sausage, basil pesto, basil leaves, Parmesan, whipped lemon ricotta and garnished with an edible blue borage flower.
Also called starflower, the plant is a popular annual herb native to the Mediterranean, featuring hairy leaves and star-shaped blue or white flowers. The leaves taste like straight from the plant cucumber.
Each tour pie, which cost $46, comes in a collectible band‑inspired box. Fans who join the loyalty program and order a slice are automatically entered to win concert tickets. Limited‑edition Avenged Sevenfold x Prince St. Pizza tees are $35.
Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte didn’t just lend their names; they helped create the pies.
“They heard about the pizza,” he said. “We heard about them, obviously. Once our minds came together, magic happened.”
Prince St. Pizza’s roots go back to the Marino family in New York and its Sicilian recipes. The restaurant has stores in New York, California, Chicago, Florida, Tempe, Toronto, Nashville and Las Vegas.
Bogonko said he was a Domino’s loyalist until he tried Prince Street.
“I didn’t know pizza could taste that good,” he said. “Once the job opportunity came across my table, I jumped on it.”
Bogonko, who moved to Arizona last fall after discovering the brand in California, said the pies bring back memories.
“I had a little emo phase back when I was younger,” he said. “It’s wild to be working with Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte now.”
