The newly renovated Hilton El Conquistador Resort will unveil a life-sized gingerbread house during a special holiday celebration Dec. 1.

The annual “Gingerbread House Unveiling and Celebration” will take place on Friday, Dec. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Santa Claus will arrive at 5:30 p.m. to unveil this year’s culinary masterpiece featuring more than 340 pounds of flour, 340 eggs, 550 pounds of powdered sugar,more than 200 candy canes, gum drops and lollipops and traditional decorations.

Guests of all ages will be invited to walk through the life-size gingerbread house while listening to live holiday carolers, and enjoy cookies & cookie decorating, hot cocoa and a holiday movie. Little ones on the naughty and nice list can have their photo taken with Santa, guests can also decorate keepsake ornaments for a small donation to benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Nestled at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains, the iconic resort recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation bringing a brand-new look and feel to its 428 guestrooms, including 139 casitas and all indoor/outdoor spaces. Following the transformation, the resort will also be unveiling its new name, “El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort,” and new logo at the event, as Dec. 1 marks the resort’s 35-year anniversary.
