Slightly Stoopid, a SoCal band with several chart-topping songs is coming to perform at the Pot Of Gold Festival being held at Tempe Beach Park the weekend of March 13-15.
They are scheduled to take the stage on Saturday at 8PM.
Drummer, Ryan “Rymo” Moran, spoke with us about their upcoming appearance. Here is what he had to say:
Q: What brought you to the Pot of Gold Music Festival?
A: Well it’s a great lineup and that’s so important to us. We are seeing friends of ours on the bill along with people we have never seen perform live, like Kendrick Lamar. We also love Arizona! It is a favorite of ours and always easy to say yes to because we like the vibe in the cities all over Arizona. We have been Phoenix, Tempe, Tucson, almost every major city, and they people are friendly and love to get crazy with us.
Q: What are your favorite songs to perform live at festivals like Pot of Gold?
A: Well to be honest I don’t like playing just specific songs, I like playing all different styles because we have the ability to do that. We want to take our audience for a great ride. We have a lot of unique songs like “Collie Man” but then we can switch to ska and then reggae next. Sometimes we even go for a bluesy or rock vibe at some times, but it really is about our fans having a full experience.
Q: What is your favorite story from a show or performance, maybe something you haven’t told anyone before?
A: Wow I have millions, I cant stream them down. We have crazy crazy experiences. I’ve been with Stoopid for 12 years and have experienced so much insanity. We have almost have been in car accidents, we meet some people that are out late at night that are just crazy, and we travel through so many weather conditions. Mostly I remember the magical shows like Lalapalooza and Red Rocks.
Q: Are you currently working on anything new that we can expect to hear at the festival, or anytime soon?
A: Yes, we are working on some new material and have been since last year. We are looking to get the album out June this year! I can’t explain the material though, you have to hear it to get the vibe because we are trying to experiment; but I promise that if to are a fan you will want to hear it.
