10/31: Life After Death Race II

Bring your best Halloween costumes and best racing bicycles to Margaret T. Hance Park on Halloween night to participate in a festive bike race/scavenger hunt full of spooky fun. The race ends in a still to be announced after party location for those who participate. Prizes given include first place, first place out-of-towner, best costume, hardest partier and more.

10/31: PoeFest

Long proclaimed one of the most haunted spots in America, the Hotel San Carlos has hosted a number of famous guests, such as Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable, since it was built in 1928. Said to be haunted by numerous ghosts, Halloween festivities will include hearing the stories and poems of Edgar Allan Poe read by professional actors. Poe’s The Raven will be read every 20 minutes at the Rosson House Museum during the night of Halloween. The eerie, historic house that dates back to 1895, the poetry reading is the perfect location for a quick, creepy addition to Halloween night.

10/31: Halloween Rooftop Party “Day of the Dead”

If you feel like celebrating Halloween and Día de Los Muertos outdoors, look no further than the LUSTRE rooftop gardens party. This Día de Los Muertos and Halloween celebration is holding a costume contest, has DJs and dancing on a fogged dance floor, and themed cocktails.

10/31: Monsters Ball

The Halloween costume ball is stepping up the zombie atmosphere with bands The Sinisters and The Mod Zombies playing. The ball will feature a prize for best costume, and funds go to benefit the Alwun House non-profit arts organization. Finger foods are available and drinks are being sold.

10/31: Weird Science Halloween 2014

For those looking for a more tame way to spend Halloween, the Arizona Science Center is encouraging visitors to don their costumes and come experience weird science experiments, cow eyeball dissections, and see some creepy, crawly critters. Organizations such as Wild at Heart Owls, the ASU Black Widow Lab and Raining Rats Rattery are bringing out critters to show the whole family for Halloween day.
