Livewire announces American actor, producer and country musician Jeff Bridges and his band, The Abiders, will perform at Livewire on Friday, January 9, 2015. Doors open at 7 p.m. This is an all ages event. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a paid adult. Tickets are on sale now at Livewireaz.com.
Bridges co-founded the indie-label company Ramp Records with singer and songwriter Michael McDonald in 2000. Along with the company’s launch, Bridges released his debut album “Be Here Soon,” and in 2011 he released his second album, “Jeff Bridges.” His self-titled major label debut features a roster of renowned songwriters and musicians and is produced by Grammy-award winner T Bone Burnett. The album is a blend of Country, Americana and Bluegrass. He recently released a live album that includes songs from the movie “Crazy Heart.” Popular hits include “She Lay Her Whip Down” and “What a Little Bit of Love Can Do.” Bridges and the Abiders have performed around the country, including appearances at Neil Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit concert and Stagecoach country music festival.
Bridges hails from Los Angeles and from a family heavily involved in show business. He has played major roles in films including “The Big Lebowski,” “Iron Man,” “Seabiscuit,” “Tron,” “Tron: Legacy” and “The Giver.” He won the Best Actor Academy Award for his role as Otis “Bad” Blake in the 2009 film “Crazy Heart” and also earned Academy Award nominations for his roles in “The Last Picture Show,” “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,” “Starman,” “The Contender” and “True Grit.”
