After closing the doors in March in response to the coronavirus pandemic, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament is lowering the drawbridge and reopening on Thursday, August 6 in the Talking Stick Entertainment District. Medieval Times created an extensive reopening plan to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff, and now, tickets are available for purchase and Her Majesty is ready to welcome back her court of Royal Guests.
Medieval Times will implement new modifications, including a mandate that all guests must wear a mask and submit to contactless temperature screening before entering the castle. Guest occupancy will be reduced to 50 percent, while all parties will be seated a minimum of six feet apart in the Grand Ceremonial Arena. Additional updates include:
• Minimal contact entry into the castle
• High-touch areas disinfected multiple times per show
• Digital menus accessible through smartphones and disposable table cards
• Team members screened prior to the start of each shift
• Team members will wear a mask at all times and gloves while handling food or drinks
• Disposable silverware available upon request

“We consulted with health experts and government officials in order to create our substantial reopening plan,” said Perico Montaner, Medieval Times President and CEO. “What we’ve managed is a plan that will ensure our guests and staff remain safe, while maintaining the same majesty and grandeur that is expected of our tournaments.”
Despite these changes, guests can expect a safe, fun and unforgettable experience. Tickets still include a four-course meal and a two-hour jousting tournament featuring six courageous knights, real weapons, beautiful horses and a live flight of the royal falcon.
Medieval Times expects to welcome approximately 2,000 team members back across all locations once they reopen.
While closed, team members cared for the horses and falcons and maintained all 10 castles. The Medieval Times costume shop–which is responsible for hand making castle tapestries and costumes for all team members and horses–made masks using show costume material and donated them to frontline and essential workers. Medieval Times also celebrated baby season at their ranch in Sanger, Texas where 25 to 30 foals are born each year.
Medieval Times is located at 9051 E Via de Ventura in the Talking Stick Entertainment District. To reserve tickets, visit: medievaltimes.com or email orderhelp@medievaltimes.com.
