The world’s top bull riding athletes and rankest bucking bulls in the business will make their return to Glendale’s Gila River Arena March 21-22 for the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Unleash The Beast, Glendale Invitational.
In 2019, veteran rider Joao Ricardo Vieira collected his first premier series event win since 2016 following two days of non-stop action at the Gila River Arena. After going 3-for-3 over the weekend, Vieira earned 460 world points, to make an impressive climb from the No. 117 spot in the PBR world standings to No. 6 thus strengthening his position in the 2019 world standings early on.
Events like the two-day weekend in Glendale are pivotal as the new year’s world title race begins to pick up momentum. Fans in the Grand Canyon state are sure to be on the edge of their seats as the ultimate level of competition unfolds before them with the toughest athletes in the world putting it all on the line for much-needed points and a chance at climbing to the top of the 2020 world standings leaderboard.
The bull riding action begins at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 and 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 22. All Top 35 bull riders will get on one bull each in Rounds 1 and 2 on Saturday and Sunday. After Round 2 on Sunday, the riders’ individual two-round scores will be totaled, and the top 15 riders will then advance to the championship round for one more ride and a chance at the event title.
