In an effort to educate and get people to rethink waste; Stardust Building Supplies is hosting Salvage This!, the 3rd annual fundraiser and celebration of reuse. The event, which is set to be held at the Showcase Room at The Yard in Tempe, is meant to inspire individuals to build a sustainable community. During the event, teams of interior designers will be competing for the Design for Hope Award by presenting their reclaimed kitchen design for one of Devereux Arizona’s respite homes for foster children. The winning design will be determined that evening by a team of judges from the design community and event attendees who vote for their favorite design. Proceeds from event will support the Stardust Building Supplies programs and offset any additional costs to install the kitchen. Featured celebrity guest, Frank Fritz from History Channel’s “American Pickers”, will share fun stories about his picking experiences as well as be a part of judging the repurposed item portion of the design competition. Each design team is tasked with creating a repurposed item that is incorporated into their overall kitchen design during the main event. The winning team will be awarded the “Frankie Award.” Frank will also host a special VIP Happy Hour for 50 guests, which will include a meet-and-greet, tips on successful picking and book signing.
