Pomo Restaurant Group, a Phoenix-based hospitality group behind Pomo Pizzeria Napoletana, Rosso Italian and Luna Gelateria, is bringing the energy of live-fire cooking to Downtown Phoenix with SALTA, a new Argentine-inspired steakhouse opening in late fall 2026 at 705 N. First St., Suite 100, adjacent to Pomo Pizzeria Downtown. Named after the northwestern Argentine province and its capital, SALTA will center the dining experience around the spirit of Argentine asado, with steaks, seafood, vegetables and shareable dishes prepared over wood and charcoal.

At the heart of the restaurant will be a custom Argentine-style wood-fired parrilla and oven built in Spain and customized specifically for the restaurant. Designed for precise control of heat, smoke and char, the grill will anchor both the kitchen and dining room, giving guests a direct connection to the cooking process and making the fire itself part of the experience.
“With Pomo, we built trust by honoring the traditions behind the food. Salta carries that same respect into a completely new experience. The fire is visible, the flavors are honest, and the room is designed to bring people together. We want guests to feel the warmth of Argentine hospitality from the moment they arrive,” said Stefano Fabbri, founder and chairman of Pomo Restaurant Group.
Led by Executive Chef Dylan Harper in collaboration with Argentine chef Carlos Alberto Lopez, SALTA’s menu will draw from the spirit of asado while being designed for a modern Downtown Phoenix audience. Prime cuts and other live-fire dishes will remain central to the experience, with the grill providing a common thread across the menu. Beyond traditional steakhouse fare, the menu will feature handmade empanadas, wood-fired provoleta, milanesa, seafood, house-made pasta, salads, vegetables and shareable plates.
The name SALTA is inspired by the northwestern Argentine province and its capital, known for its strong regional identity, generous hospitality and culture of gathering around food. That sense of warmth and connection will shape the restaurant’s atmosphere as much as the menu itself.
A sweeping bar with more than 25 seats will form Salta’s social heart, connecting the dining room and patio in an indoor-outdoor experience. A dedicated cocktail program will complement the menu’s smoke, richness and brightness, while happy hour and fire-grilled small plates will give guests another way to experience the restaurant. The patio will feature comfortable booth seating, while the dining room will be designed with booths focused on intimacy and comfort. Counter-height seating positioned between the bar and parrilla will give guests front-row views of the open kitchen and live-fire cooking.
SALTA is slated to open in late fall 2026 at 705 N. First St., Suite 100, in Downtown Phoenix, adjacent to Pomo Pizzeria Downtown. Valet parking will be available directly in front of 705 N. First St. Additional details about the opening will be announced soon.
