In remembrance of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, Red, White & Brew in Mesa and Prescott are raising funds for the Eric Marsh Foundation for Wildland Firefighters during the month of June.
To honor the anniversary of the devastating Yarnell Hill Fire tragedy on June 30, both restaurants will donate $1 from each sale of specially designated burgers to the foundation. This year marks the 13th anniversary of the fire, which resulted in one of the deadliest days in wildland firefighting history. In addition, diners at both locations can choose to round up their checks throughout June, with proceeds benefiting the charity.

The fundraising effort also includes featured local beer partnerships. At Red, White & Brew Mesa, $1 from every AZ Loc Ale Beer Co. Daybreaker pint sold will be donated to the Eric Marsh Foundation. At Red, White & Brew Prescott, $1 from every Arizona Lager pint sold will benefit the foundation. Arizona Lager is the official state beer commemorating America’s 250th birthday and is brewed exclusively by Flagstaff’s Mother Road Brewing Company.
“This fundraiser means a lot to our team because the Granite Mountain Hotshots are such an important part of Prescott’s history,” said Jimmy Herrera, co-owner of Red, White & Brew. “We wanted to create a way for guests to support the Foundation while honoring the courage and sacrifice of the 19 firefighters who lost their lives protecting Arizona.”
The Hot Shot burger features a half-pound patty topped with poblano peppers, pepper jack cheese, onion tanglers and poblano crema, served on a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion and a choice of one side.
While the burgers and beer bring the flavor, the mission behind them is rooted in remembrance and respect. Both restaurants have strong ties to the community and share a deep appreciation for those who serve and protect it. The impact of the Granite Mountain Hotshots’ loss was felt throughout Prescott and beyond, and supporting the Eric Marsh Foundation is one way to carry their legacy forward.
On June 30, 2013, 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots lost their lives while battling the Yarnell Hill Fire, marking one of the deadliest days in wildland firefighting history. The elite crew, based in Prescott, became symbols of courage and sacrifice, remembered not only for their heroism but also for their deep ties to the local community.
The Eric Marsh Foundation was established by Amanda Marsh, widow of the crew’s superintendent Eric Marsh. The nonprofit provides support to wildland firefighters and their families, including direct financial assistance, mental health resources and advocacy work aimed at improving conditions for those on the front lines.
“We appreciate Red, White & Brew continuing to help shine a light on the needs of wildland firefighters and their families,” said Amanda Marsh, founder and executive director of the Eric Marsh Foundation. “Community partnerships like this help us provide support when firefighters and their loved ones need it most.”
These efforts not only raise funds, they help ensure the bravery of the 19 is never forgotten.
