With $15 million renovations underway at Desert Ridge Marketplace, the shopping center added three new tenants to its current mix, which includes local Mexican hotspot Barrio Queen.
This will be Barrio Queen’s first North Valley location and is planned to open its doors at Desert Ridge Marketplace late this summer.
The 5,700-square-foot restaurant will include a tree-covered outdoor lounge, open kitchen, private tequila tasting room and artwork from local and Mexican artists.
“We are very excited about this new location,” said Barrio Queen owners Steve Rosenfield and Linda Nash. “We are looking forward to sharing our passion for Mexican food and culture to a new area of the Valley. As ‘barrio’ means ‘neighborhood,’ we are excited to bring our neighborhood to this neighborhood.”
Desert Ridge Marketplace announced its $15 million renovations in February. The renovations will provide new features to the facility and will be completed during summer 2017.
Other niche eateries will make their way into the Marketplace, including MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company. The Pizza shop will serve up fresh pizza, salads and desserts using authentic Italian ingredients in a stylish atmosphere when it opens its doors in July 2017.
Fitness tenants were also added to the marketplace. On April 3 a Pilates studio, The Body Lab, opened up. In early May, heart intensity interval training fitness studio FIT36, will open as well.
“We are so excited to see our vision for Desert Ridge Marketplace come to fruition with the new additions to the center,” said Jenny Cushing, vice president of leasing at Vestar, the management firm behind Desert Ridge Marketplace.
Other recent additions to Desert Ridge Marketplace also include Nekter Juice Bar, uBreakiFix, Chipotle, Sizzle Korean Barbeque, The Joint Chiropractic, Amazing Lash Studio, Kay Jewelers and The Beauty District.
Desert Ridge Marketplace is located at 21001 N. Tatum Blvd. in Phoenix.
