Following a streak of big wins at internationally-recognized competitions including the Los Angeles International Beer Competition and International Beer Awards Excellence in Brewing N.A.B.A., Pedal Haus Brewery was bestowed with four prestigious medals for its artisanal, high-quality beers, including two gold medals and a bronze medal, at the Copa Cervezas de América beer competition. The multi-award winning Pedal Haus Brewery is spearheaded by distinguished restaurateur and founder, Julian Wright and Beer Program Director, Derek “Doc” Osborne.

During the Downtown Tempe brewery’s first year participating in this international beer competition, Pedal Haus won one of the competition’s two most coveted awards, “Best Brewery in America” by reaching the highest score in the sum of all the medals obtained. The White Rabbit IPA won a gold medal in the White & Belgian IPA category and the Bière Blanche which has achieved back-to-back wins in the Great American Beer Festival and the Los Angeles International Beer Competition won a gold medal in the Witbier category. The Day Drinker Lager was recognized with a bronze medal in the American Light Lager category, which marks as the seventh win for Pedal Haus’ most award-winning beer style.

“We are honored to have received gold medals recognizing Pedal Haus as the best brewery in all of North America,” said Pedal Haus Founder, Julian Wright. “We have enjoyed sharing our lineup of beers with Copa Cervezas de América and are thrilled by the international award medals we have earned this year for our handcrafted, Arizona-made beer.

The Copa Cervezas de América competition began in 2011 and is the largest beer competition in the Southern Hemisphere, involving brewers from North America, Central America and South America. More than 2,000 beers from approximately 350 breweries across all continents entered into the competition. Gold, silver and bronze awards are provided to breweries in each participating country. The greatest awards are continental including the “Best Brewery in America” and the “Best American Beer.” All evaluations are according to “2015 BJCP Style Guide” by the jury members. At least 50 percent of the members of the jury are foreign, and the remaining are based in South America. All members of the jury hold important careers and wide prestige and recognition as beer judges.
