Pomo Pizzeria announced that the doors to its downtown location will re-open on Thursday, October 25. The public is invited to the grand reopening with complimentary bites from 5 to 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy samples of new menu items such as salumi boards, pastas and bruschetta. Everyone will be offered a welcome punch and end the experience with a Luna Gelateria gelato. The public is also welcome to attend a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. in front of the restaurant. After several weeks of closing their doors, the $250,000 remodel of the popular Phoenix spot, located at 705 N. First Street, Suite 120, will debut a more modern, urban feel and an enhanced menu.

“We really paid attention to every inch of this remodel and took great care to create a vibrant atmosphere,” said Stefano Fabbri, founder and chairman of Pomo Restaurant Group. “This is not only about the space. We also updated our menu while staying true to the flavors that are uniquely Pomo.”

The 1,600 square foot space includes an upgraded bar that was extended by more than twenty feet. More TVs were added and a section of the bar gives guests the option of being inside or outside with the new rolling patio doors. Outside, taller awnings offer protection from the elements during the harsh Arizona summers. Additional windows also open up the space. Inside, guests will notice new white matte brick walls, brand-new flooring and additional lighting throughout. The kitchen has also been extended to allow for additional equipment, which means a broader menu.

A second Luna Gelateria location, at 200 square-feet, was also added inside Pomo. The gelato from Luna is made from scratch using locally-sourced Danzeisen Dairy with ingredients imported from Italy. A new gelato case, called a CIAO, holds 12 to18 flavors.

This location will also roll out a new wine, beer and cocktail list. New plates on the menu include antipasti, bruschetta, salads, soups, and of course, pizza. Staff will sport fresh new uniforms.

“We want to keep the food authentic and interesting for our guests,” said Fabbri. “The lighter and crispier style of pizza not only brings fresh flavors and new textures, but it shows our commitment to responding to the growing tastes of our diners.”

In addition to the atmosphere and menu changes, Pomo’s downtown location will have new hours. There will be no midday closing and guests can enjoy happy hour six days a week from 3 to 6 p.m. and reverse happy hour from 9 p.m. to close. Pomo will be open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with an extended closing time of to 12 a.m. on the weekends. The restaurant will be closed on Mondays.
