Talking Stick Resort, an enterprise owned and operated by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, was named “Casino of the Year” at the 2018 International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA) Honors and Awards Ceremony on Oct. 2, 2018. The resort is the first Arizona casino to win such a prestigious international award.

“Entertainment has been a key component to the success of Talking Stick Resort,” said Ramon Martinez, director of public relations for Talking Stick Resort. “Since opening our doors in 2010, we have continuously strived to offer premier shows and concerts, increasing the caliber of performers each year. For our efforts, not only to be the first in Arizona to be recognized, but also on an international level is a great honor.”

Hosted in Nashville, the awards are part of IEBA’s annual conference now in its 48th year.  The awards recognize the outstanding companies, talent agents, and venues in the live concert industry. The awards are voted on by top entertainment executives in the United States including some of the nation’s biggest artist management groups, agencies and producers.

Talking Stick Resort was selected as “Casino of the Year” from a prestigious list of nominees that included Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort & Casino, Choctaw Casino & Resort in Oklahoma, Agua Caliente Casino Resort in Rancho Mirage, California, and The Nugget Casino Resort in Reno, Nevada.  Long considered the ultimate destination for entertainment in Scottsdale, the Talking Stick Resort plays host to numerous musicians, bands and comedians throughout the year. Recent shows at the property include Journey, Boy George and Culture Club, Jason Derulo, Tiesto, Kathleen Madigan and many more.
