Someburros, a locally-owned and family-operated group of restaurants that feature the founding family’s generational, authentic Sonoran-style Mexican recipes, will celebrate its 35th anniversary with a Lifetime Burro Pass giveaway and a special dine-in and takeout deal on its most popular burro. Founded by George and Mary Vasquez in 1986, the Vasquez Family has been committed to making fast-casual, authentic Mexican food for 35 years, starting with the first Someburros location in Tempe and expanding to 12 locations across Arizona with three more locations underway in Goodyear, Peoria, and San Tan Valley. The community, long-time employees, loyal customers and Someburros super fans have allowed Someburros to continue to grow and share their delicious, quality Mexican cuisine and friendly customer experience throughout the Valley and state.
The Someburros story starts with Eusevio “Poncho” Vasquez and Isabel Vasquez who opened the family’s first restaurant, Poncho’s Mexican Food and Cantina, in 1972 and is still a South Phoenix staple today. Eusevio and Isabel’s son, George Vasquez, decided to expand the family business with his wife Mary and they created the local favorite, a fast-casual Mexican restaurant concept offering quality Mexican cuisine prepared quickly.

What: To celebrate the milestone anniversary on October 16, all 12 statewide locations of Someburros will have a one day only $7 Pollo Fundido special, the most popular menu item from the last 35 years. Served with rice, this signature burro dish features Nana Isabel’s homestyle recipe made with a marinated chicken breast wrapped in a warm flour tortilla and then deep fried and topped with jalapeño cream cheese, grated cheddar and green onions. To redeem this all-day special, use whisper code: FUNDIDO when ordering online as a rewards member, or in person to receive the offer.
Additionally, the restaurant will host a lifetime burro giveaway contest through the Someburros app. New, first-time rewards members who sign up for the Someburros app from October 16 through the end of the month and spend a minimum of $25 on the app will be entered into a daily lottery to win the Lifetime Burro Pass. Only one Someburros rewards member will be picked for the Lifetime Burro Pass which includes one free burro or burrito every month for the rest of their life!
When: The $7 Pollo Fundido special will be available for one day only on Saturday, October 16, 2021. The Lifetime Burro Pass contest will begin on the restaurant’s anniversary, October 16 and end on October 31, 2021.
