Gust Rosenfeld Expands Real Estate Group

Gust Rosenfeld announced that Jesi L. Wolnik has joined the firm’s Real Estate Group. Jesi practices in the areas of real estate transactions, real estate litigation, commercial litigation, professional liability, arbitration/mediation, and probate. 

Bringing more than 15 years of experience as a licensed real estate broker to her practice, Jesi handles a variety of professional liability issues for real estate professionals, including escrow agents, insurance agents, and real estate agents. Jesi also assists brokers during audits or investigations by the Arizona Department of Real Estate.

Jesi has extensive experience resolving real property disputes, easement and access disputes, boundary issues, and quiet title disputes. Jesi additionally advises and represents clients in agreements for sale and commercial and development transactions.

NAI Horizon adds Lori Kahn to its office properties team

NAI Horizon announced the addition of Lori Kahn as it increases its office properties presence in the Valley.

Kahn will assist commercial real estate clients find office space optimally suited to their needs. Kahn will focus primarily on office leasing and sales in the brisk Scottsdale and Paradise Valley submarkets.

Kahn has more than 20 years of experience in e-commerce, marketing, business development, and operations.  Most recently, Kahn ran her own business consulting practice, utilizing her proven track record of driving revenue and negotiating significant cost reductions to streamline operations and grow her clients’ sales and earnings.   Prior to that, she grew several top brands while in executive level roles. 

She joins NAI Horizon following a 2-year stint at DPR Commercial.

Thomas Strong, MD joins Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital

Carondelet Health Network recently named Thomas Strong, MD as medical director of the Perinatal Assessment Center at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital. The center offers an array of treatments, procedures and services including fetal diagnosis, genetic counseling and management of high-risk pregnancies. 

Patients of the Maternal Fetal Medicine program at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital can receive preconception care and specialized prenatal care for high-risk pregnancies including medical or obstetrical complications, maternal complications, fetal anomalies, fetal complications and fetal testing, as well as labor and delivery services. 

Dr. Strong has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, textbook chapters, and book. He has been an assistant clinical professor at the University of Arizona and the University of California, San Francisco. 

He is co-editor of the “Obstetric Intensive Care Manual,” textbook author, a special reviewer for Obstetrics and Gynecology and single author of Expecting Trouble: What expectant parents should know about prenatal care in America. His work has been cited in major American obstetric textbooks, and he speaks locally and nationally at physician, nursing and certified nurse midwife conferences on high-risk obstetrical topics.

Debra Stapleton selected for assistant city manager position

Chandler City Manager Marsha Reed announced that Debra Stapleton has been hired as an Assistant City Manager. She will fill the position vacated by Nachie Marquez, who retired in June.

“This is a critical leadership position, and I am excited for Debra to work with the Mayor and Council and the City’s executive team to ensure we continue to deliver outstanding service for Chandler residents,” Reed said.

Stapleton previously served as Chandler’s human resources director since 1999 and was promoted to administrative services director in 2016 to oversee buildings and facilities, fleet services, human resources and information technology. She also worked at Olin Corporation for 19 years in human resource management positions.

Stapleton holds a master’s degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in human resources from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. She also is a certified workplace mediator.
