Brookfield Residential, the developer of popular master-planned  communities in Arizona, is now building its first homes in the state with plans to open the neighborhoods of Highland Sage and Ridge, in the master-planned community of Alamar, in Avondale (in West Valley 18 miles west of Phoenix). The Highland neighborhood includes Highland Sage (with 111 homes planned) and Highland Ridge (118 homes planned) with more to come.

DEEPER DIVEHere’s how much housing affordability has dropped in Arizona

The model grand opening for Highland is March 18, 2023, with the first move-ins expected in late 2023. The neighborhood offers eight single-family floorplans (both one and two-story designs) with three to six bedrooms and options for multi-generation suites, flex rooms and bonus rooms. Square footages range from approximately 1,799 to 3,094. Homes are priced from the high $300,000s.

Brookfield Residential is equally successful as a master-planned developer and homebuilder. In addition to Alamar, the firm has developed the master-planned community of Eastmark in Mesa (with DMB Associates Inc.). Coming soon is the masterplan of Blossom Rock in Apache Junction.

“Arizonans may be familiar with our name because of the popularity of our Eastmark and Alamar communities, while our customers across the country also know us for the homes we build,” said Nicole Burdette, President, AZ Housing at Brookfield Properties. “Buyers consistently give us excellent reviews and referrals for the quality of our homes and the first-class customer experience. So naturally, we’re excited to expand our presence in Arizona with the beautiful homes at Highland in Alamar.”

The homebuilder is already in 22 major markets in U.S. and Canada and its neighborhoods are consistent award-winners, with placemaking expertise extending across master-plans and neighborhoods. This includes its new community in Tustin, California, awarded 2022 Detached Community of the Yearby The Nationals Awards Gala which honors industry leaders.

“Brookfield Residential is very strategic in its approach to new housing markets,” said Brookfield Residential VP of Sales and Marketing Caitlyn Lai-Valenti. “We closely calibrate the floorplan designs and options to the needs of each community, whether for first-time or move-up buyers. And we enhance the experience of buying with a concierge approach for customers, including smart financing options.”

In Arizona’s West Valley, the Alamar master-planned community celebrates the Sonoran Desert’s rich natural assets: the Sierra Estrella Mountains and close proximity to the surrounding desert, rivers, and mountains. Developed by Brookfield Residential in partnership with the City of Avondale, the community is spread over 1,150 acres, with approximately 4,000 homes planned, acres of green parks, more than 9 miles of nature trails, and welcoming landscaped streets.
