The Banner Ironwood Medical Center campus is growing. The hospital announced the construction of its newest outpatient medical office building on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Local dignitaries from the Town of Queen Creek, as well as the Pinal County Board of Supervisors, physicians and staff were on hand to help with the groundbreaking ceremony, which included opening remarks and the traditional turning of the soil.

“It’s amazing to see how much this hospital has grown in the last eight years,” said Sharon Lind, CEO of Banner Ironwood Medical Center. “During the time we’ve been in operation, the community has experienced a substantial population increase. Healthcare is rapidly evolving, so the demand for quality medical services is high. With new technologies we’ve introduced, new services, and now a new medical office building, we are making sure that we can exceed those expectations and continue to provide exceptional patient service and care.”

The new medical office building will be located on the far north end of the Banner Ironwood campus. Ryan Companies US, Inc. has been awarded to do the construction, and the Plaza Companies will be helping to develop and lease the space. The building will be three stories and will include approximately 60,000 square feet of space, that will be leased out to various physician practices and medical groups. Construction on the new building is estimated to be completed later this summer. This is Banner Ironwood’s first major construction project on that campus since the hospital’s opening on Nov. 1, 2010.
