Max Biegert has awarded Brent Moser and Michael Sutton of Cushman & Wakefield Phoenix the listing assignment for a 480-acre land parcel in Williams, Ariz.

The site is located in the northwest portion of Williams, on Interstate 40, offering more than one-mile of freeway frontage. The 480 acres is roughly the size of the existing town of Williams, which is 32 miles west of Flagstaff, Ariz., and offers unmatched views of Bill Williams Mountain with easy access to Route 66. With a year-round population of 3,000, the submarket continues to be a catalyst for travelers seeking entertainment in the western U.S. with attractions such as Bearizona and the Grand Canyon.

Max Biegert, who owns the Williams property, bought and revived the Grand Canyon Railway, which runs from Williams to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, in the late 1980’s. The origins of the train operation date back to 1901 and is now owned by Xanterra Parks & Resorts and carries approximately 170,000 people per year.

Over the years there has been talk about Michigan-based Granger Group buying the 480-acre property from Biegert for a major theme park – Disney park, Six Flags or Busch Gardens. “Biegert recently contacted us to list the property after The Granger Group, who previously proposed a theme park, decided to cancel a several year option they had obtained on the property,” said Moser.
