Valley Partnership has announced the 25 young professionals chosen to participate in the 2017-2018 ADVOCATES program, as well as the focus of this year’s curriculum – “The Modern Era of Mixed-Use Development.”

Valley Partnership, the premier advocacy group for responsible development in Greater Phoenix, has represented the commercial, industrial and master-planned community industries and presented a balanced, pro-development perspective for 30 years.

“The development world is moving fast today, and the Phoenix area has transformational development and redevelopment opportunities.  Programs like the Advocates ensure that we will have a strong, connected and trained pipeline of leaders for the future,” said Valley Partnership Board Member, Brandon Dillingham, director of Arizona development for Hines.  He will lead the Class on behalf of the Board.

The program launched in September with an exclusive lunch with the Board of Directors and Mayors from a number of key Valley cities to discuss development and the future of planning in their communities.  “The Advocates takes these leaders’ education to the next level by introducing them to the key players, the stories behind the developments here, and the decision-makers in the process.  This takes them beyond theory and the office, and puts them into active developments to learn from the best in our industry,” said Cheryl Lombard, CEO of Valley Partnership.

The 2017-2018 Valley Partnership ADVOCATES will take part in a robust program focused on all aspects of the lifecycle for a large-scale, master-planned development. Topics will include what a developer considers in identifying viable land, assemblage and acquisition, working with government entities on zoning entitlements, financing, buyer research, land planning, architecture, interior space planning and design, home building, branding and project marketing, and how it all fits together in our new economy. Valley Partnership appreciates the support of this year’s program sponsors, SRP and Hines.
