DTZ, a global leader in commercial real estate services, has announced that Colorado-based Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage signed a lease for 27,827 square feet at Scottsdale Towne Square, 13802 N. Scottsdale Road. DTZ Managing Director’s Cliff Johnston and John Appelbe represented the landlord, Holualoa Scottsdale Retail, LLC.
Established in 1955 by Margaret and Philip Isely, Natural Grocers was founded under the premise of providing consumers with affordable, high-quality foods and dietary supplements. It has provided free nutrition education classes to more than 50,000 customers and donated more than $1 million to local food banks and non-profit community organizations. Natural Grocers is a family run, publicly traded company with 95 locations across Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. The Scottsdale Towne Square location will be the organic and natural food company‚s first store in Scottsdale. It is expected to open before the end of the year.
Scottsdale Towne Square is located at the northwest corner of Scottsdale and Thunderbird Roads. Originally built in 1986 and 1987, Holualoa Companies purchased the property in 2012 and immediately began a renovation and rebrand for the property. Since being awarded the marketing assignment for the neighborhood retail center, DTZ has completed 12 new leases for 66,294 square feet and 16 renewals, bringing the center’s occupancy to 91%.
