Chandler-based Phoenix Home Remodeling today announced that 2023 was the best year in its history, with the company completing its most jobs ever, adding new employees, and expanding into two new cities.

In order to tackle the company’s increased workload, Phoenix Home Remodeling created seven new positions, bringing its total number of employees to 18.

The company completed 52 remodeling jobs in 2023, up from 40 the previous year, a 38% increase. Six of those projects came in Mesa, a market PHR added in Fall of 2023.

PHR co-founder Jeremy Maher said the company’s growth is a reflection of the philosophy the company has followed since its beginning in 2017.

“We’re very proud to offer an exceptional client experience, and provide additional job opportunities, especially in a trying economy such as we saw last year,” Maher said.

“We employ a design-build process, which is different from the process used by most home remodelers. That system provides our clients with cost certainty from the time they sign with us and eliminates the price increases, frustrating delays, change orders, and stress.”

The company focuses its efforts in the Southeast Valley. They served Chandler, Tempe, Ahwatukee, Gilbert, South Phoenix and Sun Lakes exclusively prior to adding Mesa and Laveen last fall. Maher said the company’s rapid growth and demand from communities outside its previous service area drove it to expand its footprint.

He said Mesa in particular is an ideal fit for PHR.

“With past home prices soaring, Mesa has proven to be a community where there are some of the more affordable homes in the Southeast Valley,” he said. “But because these homes are more affordable, they don’t always have all the amenities and upgrades the new homeowners want. So rather than pay much more for a home in another part of the Valley, they are choosing Mesa and getting more home for their dollar. Then they can remodel it to make it exactly how they want, and still end up paying less overall.”

Phoenix Home Remodeling offers home remodeling services including bathroom, kitchen, laundry and whole-home remodels; home improvements; fireplace upgrades; home office remodels; and general contractor services.

That suite of services has grown with the company. Initially, PHR provided just kitchen and bathroom remodels, but demand drove an expansion of the company’s offerings.

“Homeowners were asking us to do other spaces besides the kitchen and bathroom, so in 2019 we expanded our services to meet that demand,” Maher said.

He and his partners, brothers Ben and Mark Chesley, all live in the Southeast Valley. Since the day they launched the company, their mission has been to improve the construction industry’s reputation in Phoenix and protect as many homeowners as possible, regardless if they work with them or not.

“We created PHR using a design-build philosophy that is much more efficient than the standard general contractor model,” Maher said. “We take much more time up front to gauge the scope of the job than the typical remodeler. We also design everything ahead of time, so the homeowner gets exactly what they want. That also allows us to offer a firm price up front and avoid the change orders, construction delays, and cost increases that are so often a part of home remodels.”

Phoenix Home Remodeling was founded in 2017 due to the owners’ unsatisfying experiences with their own home remodeling projects. Today, Phoenix Home Remodeling completes 50-60 projects annually, from simple kitchen and bath upgrades to complete home renovations.

The company is located at 6700 W. Chicago St., Suite 1, in Chandler and can be reached by phone at 480-452-1023 or online at PhxHomeRemodeling.com.
