After more than 40 years of experience in the precast/prestressed concrete industry, Spears is retiring in December from Coreslab Structures Arizona, where he worked for the past 25 years.

“Steve Spears has assisted on hundreds of projects, providing conceptual vision, identifying alternative solutions, and offering value-added ideas to assist the Coreslab team in determining the most cost-effective precast solution,” said Rick Reichenberg, Vice President | General Manager of Coreslab Structures Arizona.

During his tenure at Coreslab Structures Arizona, Spears’ primary focus has been on assisting architects, engineers, developers, and owners early in the building process with pre-construction design assistance, estimating, budgeting, value engineering, BIM, capturing LEED points, project fabrication, product delivery, and field installation all the way through to the project closeout.

“I sincerely appreciate the many meaningful friendships and daily learning opportunities I have had along this amazing journey. My business goal has been to be an effective design-build partner and add value by optimizing the project solution for our clients,” Spears said. “I’m particularly grateful in knowing that I am leaving my loyal business partners in the good hands of Ryan Mohn, another highly qualified Coreslab professional with over 10 years of experience.”

Spears is a member of the Arizona Association of Economic Development (AAED) and the Arizona Builders Alliance (ABA). He served on the Executive Council of the Arizona State University Del E. Webb School of Construction.

Spears and his family plan to live in Costa Rica for six months out of the year, working with their church’s ministry. Spears will continue to be a part-time resident of Dewey, Arizona. Away from the office he enjoys mountain biking, playing golf and tennis and is new to the popular sport of pickleball.
