Glam metal rockers Winger and Firehouse bring their arena-filling stomp to the circular stage of Celebrity Theatre on Thursday, January 17th. Special guest Drop Diezel opens the show at 8 p.m.

Kip Winger rode the wave of the ’80s/early ’90s pop-metal explosion first with Alice Cooper and then in the wildly successful band of his namesake, Winger. The band released their debut album selling over a million copies on the strength of the rocker “Seventeen” and the ballad “Headed for a Heartbreak.” Winger’s second album, 1990’s In the Heart of the Young, was equally successful, selling over a million copies and featuring the hit power ballad “Miles Away.”  Kip then launched a solo career, releasing three albums before reuniting with his former bandmates in 2002. Steadily active since 2006, Winger released their ninth studio album Better Days Comin’ in 2014. Besides being an accomplished multi-instrumental musician, Kip Winger is also a Grammy-nominated artist in the Best Contemporary Classical Composition category for his album Winger: Conversations With Nijinsky at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. Kip’s bandmates include Reb Beach (Dokken, Alice Copper, Whitesnake), Rod Morgenstein, Paul Taylor, John Roth and Donnie Wayne Smith.

FireHouse reached stardom during the early 90s with hits like “Reach For The Sky,” “Don’t Treat Me Bad” and “All She Wrote,” as well as their signature power ballads “I Live My Life for You,” “Love of a Lifetime” and “When I Look Into Your Eyes.” Their music has produced Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum records in the United States and countries abroad. At the 1992 American Music Awards, FireHouse won the award for Favorite Heavy Metal/Hard Rock New Artist, over Nirvana and Alice in Chains. In 2011, the band released their eighth studio album Full Circle, and they haven’t stopped rocking, touring the world and performing for the fans they’ve amassed over the last two and a half decades. As music changes over time, FireHouse continues to evolve their musical style, yet at the same time hang onto their hard rock roots. In concert, loyal fans can expect to hear what FireHouse is famous for: soulful, melodic hard rock. The band consists of original members C.J. Snare, Bill Leverty, Michael Foster and longtime member Allen McKenzie.
