The Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club announced its donation of just over $500,000 to 24 charities at their annual gifting meeting on May 31, 2018.

The nonprofit’s founding single objective is to support children’s charities. The organization does this through fundraising events. Some of the local charities that benefitted from these monies were Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona, Care Fund, Playworks, #LoveUp Foundation, Teen Lifeline and Future for Kids.

“Every member of the Scottsdale 20-30 Club is honored to dedicate their time and resources to such a worthy cause.  Together, we are making a strong impact in the Phoenix community by supporting amazing charities that help local children and families,” said incoming president, Kyle McMillian. 

The club also recently announced the election of its new 2018-2019 board members, information about each can be found below.

New Board Members 

Kyle McMillian, President— McMillian joined UMB Bank in 2006 and has been a commercial lender in the Arizona market since 2008. He has been an active member in the Scottsdale 20-30 Club since 2014 and previously served as a treasurer for both the club and the foundation. McMillian was also last year’s chairman for the Brokers for Kids event. He has served on the board of directors for Teen Lifeline since 2012.

Ben McRae, Vice President of Membership— McRae is the vice president of operations for his family-owned real estate investment firm, McRae Group of Companies. He has been a member of the Scottsdale 20-30 Club since April 2013 and previously served as the international relations officer and vice president of events. 

Kevin Orr, Vice President of Events—Orr sells Human Capital Management technology in the major account division of ADP. He has been an active member in the Scottsdale 20-30 Club for three years and has previously served on the Brokers for Kids and membership committees. Orr has been involved with children’s charities for as long as he can remember, including in college with PUSH America and The Ability Experience.

Taylor Williams, Treasurer— Williams has been an attorney and partner at Williams & Williams Law, LLC for four years, where he practices estate planning, tax, probate and trust litigation. He has served as a member of the club since 2017, and was named Rookie of the Year. He also previously served as a treasurer for the NiteFlite event. 

Evan Dahn, Secretary— Dahn works for Network Global Logistics, a Denver-based same day transportation firm and lives with his wife in McCormick Ranch. This will mark Evan’s second year in the club and his fist year serving on the board. 

Evan Weishar, International Relations Officer—Weishar is originally from Kansas City, MO and has been a commercial banker at UMB Bank in Phoenix for four years. He has been an active member of the Scottsdale 20-30 Club since 2016 and was previously the 2018 treasurer for the Agents Benefitting Children and Brokers for Kids fundraiser.

Christopher Maderazzo, NiteFlite Chairman — Maderazzo is the CEO of Canyon State Electric, a local family construction business that recently celebrated 40 years in business. He joined the Scottsdale 20-30 Club in 2016 and was named Rookie of the Year. Maderazzo was previously elected as vice president of events, where he was heavily involved in each of the club’s fundraisers. 

Scott Ellsworth, Brokers for Kids Chairman— Ellsworth is vice-president at SRS, the nation’s largest commercial real estate firm dedicated to retail. He has been an active member since 2014 and previously served on the board as an international relations officer and co-chair for last year’s Brokers for Kids event.

Braydon Dennis, Agents Benefitting Children Chairman — Dennis is a business development manager with Great American Title Agency and has been a member of the Scottsdale 20-30 Club since 2015. This will be his first term on the club board and second year on the membership committee.

Ben Tobias, Foundation President Tobias is a senior loan officer with the Tobias Team at Fairway Independent Mortgage Company. Tobias previously spent three terms serving on the club board and this year will mark his third year on the foundation board. He was named Member of the Year in 2015 and was the 2017 Agents Benefitting Children chairman.

Chase Emmerson, Foundation Treasurer—Emmerson is a 3rd generation Arizona land investor and a licensed real estate agent with his family-owned business, Emmerson Enterprises, Inc. Emmerson joined the club in May of 2015 and previously served as club secretary.

Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club’s signature event, NiteFlite, is a combination golf tournament and gala. The 29th annual NiteFlite event will take place on Friday, October 19th at McCormick Ranch Golf Club and Saturday, October 20th at the W Scottsdale. The club’s second biggest fundraiser, Brokers for Kids and Agents Benefitting Children involves over 550 residential real estate agents and commercial brokers going head-to-head in an Olympiad Championship which includes multiple competitions to support Boys Hope, Girls Hope and the Care Fund. Brokers for Kids and Agents Benefitting Children will occur on April 5th, 2019 at the Scottsdale Stadium.
