Sixty-four homes will hit the market in mid-November when The Statesman Group begins taking reservations for the third phase of sales at The Cays at Downtown Ocotillo, a $90 million luxury condominium community located within the sought-after Ocotillo neighborhood in Chandler.

Selling more than $40 million in real estate at The Cays to date, Statesman will break ground on the third phase this fall featuring one- and two-bedroom condominium homes and top-floor penthouses ranging in size from 862 to 1,512 square feet and priced from the mid $200,000s. Statesman will also nearly double the patio space and make soft enhancements to each home within this phase with expected move-in the first quarter of 2020.

“The Cays is leading the way for luxury condominium developments in the East Valley as we continue to attract interest from buyers looking for a more upscale option without paying higher prices for a similar offering in Scottsdale or Phoenix,” said Alana Mann, president and owner of The Statesman Group. “Local and national buyers are seeing the value of living in Chandler with the resort-style living, access to world-class golfing, dining and shopping and some of the lowest cost of services, utility charges and sales tax in the Valley. We’re looking to amplify what condo living is all about here in Chandler.”

Since opening in June 2015, The Cays has been met with high demand from second homebuyers looking to escape the winter months from colder destinations like Colorado, Washington and many states within the Midwest and East Coast. According to the National Association of Home Builders, Maricopa County ranks among the top areas in the nation for second homeownership with more than 118,000 homes categorized as “second homes.”

Outside of the weather, one of the biggest attractions for second homebuyers at The Cays is the walkability to the quaint Downtown Ocotillo district where the developer announced a multimillion-dollar expansion adding up to seven new tenants and lakefront lounging areas by spring. Homeowners are also centrally located to high-end shopping at Chandler Fashion Center and great dining, breweries and nightlife in Downtown Chandler.

“Being from Washington, I was really looking for a second home that was close to great dining options and offered a relaxing respite from the dreary winter months when traveling for work. When I stumbled upon Chop Chandler and The Living Room Wine Café & Lounge in Downtown Ocotillo, I knew I had to live in this area,” said Arefi, a homeowner at The Cays. “From the moment I walked into The Cays, it felt like I was in a resort with all of the amazing amenities and it wasn’t long until I fell in love with one of the residences that just happened to be available. I’m so excited about my new home and I look forward to visiting each month.”

Homeowners at The Cays have unlimited access to a 9,500 square-foot clubhouse that features a gourmet community kitchen, two-sided fireplace, a media center and social lounge, yoga studio, billiards and shuffleboard located at the heart of the property. Other amenities include an 1,800 square-foot fitness center with locker rooms and private steam showers, year-round heated swimming pool surrounded by private cabanas, an outdoor kitchen with gas BBQs and a bar, fireplaces and lush landscaping.
