Copper State Rubber, the manufacturer of industrial, oilfield and mine hoses, broke ground on a 150,000-square-foot corporate facility on Monday.

The forthcoming facility will accommodate the increasing amount of manufacturing businesses coming to the West Valley– a positive sign of continued business opportunities and job growth, Avondale city officials said.

Construction on the $25-30 million project that is slated to be completed in March 2017, includes significant land for future expansion to accommodate increases in production and product diversity. Copper State Rubber will be bringing 50 existing employees to Avondale with expansion plans that includes future employment needs of over 100.

The forthcoming facility, is being built by Wespac Construction. “We’re excited to partner with Seefried Industrial Properties, a long-time client and friend of Wespac, in this new endeavor,” said Wespac Construction Vice President Wayne Bogan. “We look forward to bringing a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to the City of Avondale for Copper State Rubber. In collaboration with the great team at Ware Malcomb, we will act as an extension of the Seefried team to successfully deliver this unique project.”

Ware Malcomb’s Phoenix office is providing architecture and interior design services for Copper State Rubber’s new 152,3920-square-foot manufacturing facility located at 104850 West Roosevelt Street in Avondale, Arizona.  Situated on a 35 Acre site, the facility includes warehousing and office operations for fabrication, testing and shipping of high pressure, long length industrial hoses.  The project features a customized, stylized pre-manufactured building façade and features a clear span manufacturing area of 150 feet by 575 feet.

According to Mayor Weise, “Copper State is exactly the kind of company that will thrive in Avondale and the kind of company we strive to attract. Great paying manufacturing jobs, a company that shows a dedication to its employees and one that has the future clearly in view. We are proud that Copper State has chosen Avondale as it new home in Arizona.”

“This development is very important to us,” Copper State Rubber President Robert Snider added. “As a resident of Avondale I have seen the progress the City has made over the years and was pleased when a potential site was identified. We have worked closely with numerous Avondale staff members and they all have been forward thinking, responsive and as interested in our success as we are. We look forward to continued opportunities for growth in our new location”.

More than 30 people, including Avondale Mayor Kenneth Weise, Robert Snider, President and Charles Wood, Vice President of Copper State Rubber, Chris Jordan, Cliff, Kenneth and Wayne Love, Owners of Copper State Rubber, Robert Guerena and the team from Seefried properties attended the groundbreaking ceremony on the morning of August 22.
