image009It must be Christmas in July! Kelly’s at SouthBridge has combined three of our favorite things: wine, Popsicles and fruit into a new delicious cocktail on its menu.

The swanky pub’s cocktails — which feature a frozen Popsicle served in a glass of wine — comes in three flavors: cucumber melon, blueberry basil and watermelon mint. You just swirl and sip away that summer heat.

Kelly’s at SouthBridge is located in Old Town Scottsdale along Sixth Avenue.

Want to make your own Popsicles? It’s super easy!

Blend together about 2 cups of cantaloupe with a tablespoon and a half of orange juice. Pour the mixture into about eight to 10 Dixie cups. Place them in the freezer until frozen. In the meantime, blend together two cups of honeydew melon, a tablespoon and a half of limeade and two or three mint leaves. When the first layer is frozen, pour the honeydew mixture on top and place back in the freezer. Wait about an hour before placing wooden Popsicle sticks into the semi-frozen mixture. Once the treats are completely frozen, pop them out of the Dixie cups and serve! (You can even try them a la Kelly’s at Southbridge with some sweet Moscato or tart Riesling wines, though we prefer to leave that kind of pairing to the professionals!)
