Summertime in the Valley means soaking up the sun, but before you take the plunge and buy a new swimsuit, hear what Scottsdale 16’s Jenna Wood says is trending this summer.
The Scottsdale 16, a part of Steve LeVine Entertainment & Public Relations, is a group of young, beautiful women in Arizona who are booked for a variety of events across the Valley by Steve LeVine Entertainment & Public Relations, including corporate parties, special events, and modeling for promotional or runway shows. Wood is no stranger to bikini trends and the proper pool party etiquette for the summer.
This summer, bikini trends are about standing out and nothing about Wood’s favorite styles are boring. For her, it is all about being more unique then the traditional triangle top. She really likes cut-out styles and strappy tops and bottoms. Bright colors have definitely worked their way into swimwear designs.
“I’ve noticed I have been buying a lot of exotic prints lately,” she said. “Anything from tribal to tropical, as long as it’s bright I love it!”
With all the unique prints and eye-popping colors out there, Wood’s go-to style is mixing and matching. Wood has a few bottoms that fit her body type and then pairs them with all types of tops, primarily bandeaus or anything bright. But most importantly, no matter what your preference is, Wood stresses that “women know how to dress to their body type. Not every style is the best look of everyone.
One of the major perks of living in Arizona is the plethora of pool parties around the Valley and what you wear to these events is just as important as a night on the town. A great bathing suit is a must, but accessories make just as big of a statement. Wood likes to stand out.
“I’m in love with my gold body chain right now,” she said. Wood matches it with small gold stud earrings, bracelets, strappy sandals or wedges and, of course, sunglasses for the perfect look.
A pool party is a great place to make a statement, but also opens the door for a lot of potential mishaps.
“Nothing is worse than a girl who shows up in a bikini she doesn’t intend to get wet,” Wood said. Wood advises to stay away from sequins, beads or anything more than $200 for a pool party look.
All the bikinis and accessories shown in these three looks can be found at the W Hotels The Store located in W Scottsdale. The store offers the latest looks from the most desired designers including Yumi Kim, Dolce Vita and Vitamin A.
