Summer is in full swing, and that means two things: triple digit weather and lots of grilling by the pool.

Everyone has their own methods for making the perfect burger for summer, but one of the newer burger joints in Phoenix, Burger Theory, is offering up some tips on how you can grill your own perfect burger.

The tips include:

  1. Before you begin grilling, decide which type of patty you will be cooking. Beef, chicken, veggie, turkey? Once you have picked your meat, you are all to set to begin grilling.
  2. When getting ready to grill any kind of meat, take it out of the refrigerator about 15 minutes before putting it on the grill. This allows for the meat to brown and caramelize more evenly when it is at room temperature.
  3. Once you place your patty on the hot grill, leave it alone and allow it to sizzle. Give it a chance to sear and seal in all of those tasty juices. When you are able to easily lift your patty off of the grill, it is ready to be flipped.
  4. When your patty is grilled to your liking, take it off of the grill and let it rest. Set your patty aside, cover it with aluminum foil and allow the juices in the meat to redistribute. If you cut into the burger before allowing it to rest, all of the juices will come out and your meat will be dry.
  5. Once your burger is grilled to perfection, spice it up with unique toppings like garlic mayo, goat cheese, grilled veggies or even coleslaw.

Just remember, as you hang out in the heat to drink plenty of water.
