Guests of the Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort can shift into high-gear excitement behind the wheel of three of the world’s most exclusive super cars – including a Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche – on the ultimate driving tour guided by a professional race car driver.
With the Waldorf Astoria Driving Experience, Biltmore guests will put the rubber to the road on a scenic driving tour of Arizona with Belgium racing champion Didier Theys at the helm of the lead car.
“Lovers of iconic, ultra-performance cars will be immersed in a thrilling, unprecedented driving experience available only to guests of the landmark Arizona Biltmore,” said General Manager Sheila Foley. “We’ve planned a breathtaking, bespoke itinerary on desert and mountain roads under the direction of a top European racing champion.”
The program will take place over six days, Dec. 2-7, 2014, with three driving sessions per day. The vehicles will be a Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C and Porsche 911 Turbo. Participants will drive all three super cars, with four couples maximum per session.
Prior to taking the wheel, participants will receive an introduction to the cars, including a history of the manufacturer and performance, technical and practical information; and a presentation on the pre-determined driving itinerary. Stops are planned along the route to rotate the drivers and serve drinks and snacks. The drive duration will be approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes up to a three-hour maximum. Pictures and video will be taken during the drive.
Race car driver Didier Theys has won the checkered flag on multiple occasions including the 24 Hours of Daytona twice, the 12 Hours of Sebring and the Sports Racing Prototype driver championship of the Grand-American Road Racing Association. He has also been a three-time podium finisher at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The price of the experience is $999.00 per couple plus tax. Participants must spend at least one night at the Arizona Biltmore, booked at least three days prior to arrival; hotel accommodations are not included in the price of the Waldorf Astoria Driving Experience.
