The new Scottsdale hotspot is the third location for Social Tap Eatery, with two others in California, and plans for a fourth location near the San Diego State University campus. The Old Town restaurant opened in April with a refreshed look, craft beer list and menu after making its first appearance in Scottsdale three years ago.
The property features a 2,000 square-foot patio and a soon to be built rooftop lounge, making it the perfect destination for large parties, business lunches and “social” hour. The restaurant has a large focus on the social aspect of the dining experience with its “eat, drink and be social” motto and sets the platform for ample sports viewing and music video watching in a dining room full of 65 and 90-inch TVs. They also host a Sunday brunch that includes everything from classic Chicken and Waffles, to a Breakfast Burger and Huevos Rancheros.
Steve McDonald, one of the visionaries behind Social Tap Eatery and various other nightlife establishments in Phoenix, wanted to bring back the concept with a strategic location, well-favored menu and revitalized space that would cater to a diversified crowd.
“I wanted to reintroduce the restaurant and bar as a social hub in the heart of Scottsdale where people can unwind and enjoy a full-service quality experience–that is hard to find these days,” McDonald said. “The difference between us and the average bar is that we want to be known for the social experience, but with outstanding food made with only the freshest, healthiest ingredients.”
The chef behind the unique menu at Social Tap Eatery, Keon Salehizadeh, owes his extensive culinary experience to his time at Sushi Roku at the W Scottsdale and Dakota. Standout items on the main menu include Filet Mignon Truffle Tacos, the Cali Burrito Bowl and a Beef and Manchego Melt sandwich. The fusion menu, combined with Social Tap’s wide selection of local craft beers, creates a specialty selection unlike any other in the Valley. The restaurant also has plans to host educational beer tastings for customers and staff members through their brewery partners every other month.
Social Tap Eatery is located at 4312 N. Brown Ave., Scottsdale and hours of business are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. from Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
