The Euro-style bike themed brewery on Mill Ave. is closing temporarily for renovations to expand its brewery and restaurant.

Pedal Haus Brewery, will be closed for an expansive remodel from June 27 to Sept. 26 with a re-grand opening scheduled for early October. The expanded restaurant, founded by acclaimed restaurateur Julian Wright of Fork and Dagger Inc. will include an increased brewing capacity, private dining room, enhanced patio area and beer garden, and expanded beer selection.

“We are happy to be contributing to the growth of the local craft beer scene and want to continue to cultivate the community with more tasty beer options that will be increasingly available in other establishments,” said Owner and Founder of Pedal Haus Brewery Julian Wright. “With the revitalized look, feel and menu, we will be able to serve a broader clientele and expand our brand throughout the Valley.”

The new brewery, with the help of its brewmaster, Derek “Doc” Osborne, winner of many beer awards including four 2016 North American Beer Awards, will produce about 1,667 gallons of beer on a weekly basis. Among the core brews are the Belgian-style Witbier, Pilsner, IPA, and English ESB.

The restaurant’s interior will be redesigned for a darker, pub-like environment to attract the late-night, social scene in Tempe and the revamped kitchen will offer a refreshed menu by day and a selective bar menu by night.

There are also plans to build a brick pizza oven to offer creative flatbreads with homemade bread using the brewery’s spent grain.  With the creative direction of interior designer Kimberly Harris of Studio K, the creative visionary behind restaurants like RnR, The Vig, and Zinc Bistro, Pedal Haus Brewery will resemble a contemporary German beer garden with a rustic- twist. The general dining room will be downsized to have more private, rentable dining areas available that hold 20 to 40 people, additional brewery tanks, and a spacious lounge. The brewery will re-locate large fermentation tanks to a centralized area in the dining room for guests to have a window into the brewing process along with accessibility of newly offered brewery tours.

The 6,000 square-foot patio at Pedal Haus Brewery will be updated to provide a lush, inviting beer garden oasis. Retractable large metal garage doors will open up to the outdoor seating area, offering an open-air feel, full-functioning bar, yard games such as ping pong, cornhole, and ladderball, and the addition of new communal bungalows with fire pits surrounded by real bamboo that will be available to rent out for parties of 10 to 20 people. The restaurant will include 38 televisions ideal for sports viewing and happy hours.

Pedal Haus Brewery will continue to serve as a sought-after location for corporate events and large parties of any size with an enhanced space and overall experience.

Pedal Haus Brewery is located at 730 S. Mill Ave., Tempe, and will re-open seven days a week.
