Most Admired Companies: Intel
Most Admired Company: 2019, 2022
Arizona executive of note: Dawn Jones, chief diversity and inclusion officer
What it does: Multinational corporation and technology company.
Admirable trait: Intel is focused on specific initiatives and programs that will help the company achieve its diversity and inclusion goals Those efforts are also having a positive effect on the Chandler community. Intel and Maricopa Community Colleges District announced an accelerated semiconductor technician Quick Start program that started in May 2022, to create more opportunities for people of diverse backgrounds to pursue career opportunities in the industry.
Innovation: Intel also created the idea of a “returnship” as part of the Relaunch Your Career program, aimed to attract and support individuals who took a break in their careers. The returnship offers participants mentorship and the chance to work on projects matching their expertise, abilities and interests. This unique company program sees career gaps as an opportunity, not a challenge. Individuals are welcomed and encouraged to re-enter the workforce. Additionally, Intel has taken steps to create a culture where employees feel comfortable reaching out when they need help (to address workplace concerns). Since its creation, WarmLine has handled more than 20,000 cases and more than 80% of the employees who reached out are still at the company.
