2021 is right around the corner. Are you ready to take your business into this next year?

Marketing has never been more in-depth than in the last few years. SEO and other digital marketing tools make it so that any business has a chance to succeed, but only if you work hard on learning the latest SEO trends.

Today, we’re going to give you a hand by looking at some of the upcoming trends and how you can utilize them in your marketing strategy. Marketing in 2021 might seem easy, but there’s a lot of competition out there, so you’ve got to be the best.

Better User Experience

UX, or user experience, is exactly what it sounds like: it takes into account the individual people visiting your page. At the end of the day, you’re marketing to humans, so appealing to them to visit your site is only the first part of the equation. Once they’re there, is the site giving them the best possible user experience?

To gauge this, you can use a core web vitals report, which will look at things like page speed, annoying pop-ups, and whether your site works on different devices. When all of these things are optimized, you’re going to see an improved user experience.

Figuring Out Intent

Appealing to search terms has long been the anchor of search engine optimization, but it’s always been slightly flawed. What we really want to get to the bottom of in 2021 is the intent of the search.

Google’s search algorithm is always getting more and more sophisticated. With the latest updates, we’re seeing that Google is able to better figure out the intent of the search, instead of loading the sites with the most keywords. This stems from the rise of voice search and its impact on long-tail keywords.

To tap into this trend, you have to be able to think like your customers. For example, say there’s a customer searching for a way to create check stubs for their employees. Have a landing page with a pay stub generator on it and content that instructs your visitors how to use it.

Content…Still King

Speaking of content, it still reigns supreme as an SEO tool. Trends often come and go as the years pass and we understand consumers more, but putting out engaging content isn’t one of those dispensable trends. In fact, it’s become even more important and the overall quality of your content has increased in importance.

You still need to produce a steady stream of content, but gone are the days where putting out the most content gets you the most visitors/conversions/etc. As a marketer, this means that you need to have very strong copywriters and/or content creators on your staff. You’ll also want to diversify your content with blog posts, videos, podcasts, infographics, and anything else that you think will catch a user’s eye.

SEO Trends, Always Changing

Using the latest SEO trends will help you learn how to boost your traffic on your site. Don’t let your competitors pass you by because you didn’t do your research. Keep your ear to the ground and put these trends to use.
