Sam Fox’s hospitality group signals national expansion

Author & Edit Hospitality, the hospitality company founded by hotelier and restaurateur Sam Fox, has appointed hospitality veteran Geoff Gray president as the company enters a new phase of national growth.

Geoff Gray

The appointment follows sustained success at Author & Edit’s flagship properties, The Global Ambassador in Phoenix and The Twelve Thirty Club in Nashville, as well as the recent announcement of The Twelve Thirty Club’s expansion to Austin, Texas. With additional brands and new markets in development and under consideration, the company is reinforcing its leadership team to support long-term growth while maintaining operational focus at its core properties.

Gray brings more than two decades of luxury hospitality experience to the role. As president, he will oversee Author & Edit’s full portfolio, guiding overall strategy, operations and development as the company scales nationally. Gray joined Author & Edit in 2022 as managing director and has been instrumental in establishing the operational framework supporting the brand’s growth.

Under Gray’s leadership, The Global Ambassador has swiftly earned its place among the country’s most noteworthy new hotels, earning a MICHELIN key in its first year and recognition as one of the best new hotels in the country from leading national authorities. In the heart of Phoenix, stylish design, imaginative cuisine and elevated hospitality converge under one roof, supported by an unrivaled restaurant collection meticulously crafted by Fox, one of the country’s foremost culinary innovators.

In the same way, The Twelve Thirty Club in downtown Nashville has quickly set a new standard for dining and entertainment in Music City, drawing acclaim for its distinctive blend of elevated cuisine, world-class cocktails and dynamic live music across multiple levels and three distinct spaces. The Twelve Thirty Club has welcomed legends like Elton John, Eric Church, Zac Brown and Morgan Wallen, all of whom have performed intimate sets on the Supper Club stage.

Younes Atallah

“As Author & Edit continues to expand, it’s essential that our leadership reflects both where we are today and where we’re going,” said Sam Fox, founder of Author & Edit Hospitality. “Geoff has played a critical role in shaping our foundation, and his perspective and experience will be central as we build what’s next.”

With that leadership transition underway, the company has also named seasoned hotel general manager Younes Atallah managing director of The Global Ambassador in Phoenix. Atallah joins Author & Edit as managing director of The Global Ambassador, reporting to Gray. He will oversee all aspects of the 141-room hotel, including its five dining destinations, wellness offerings and private members club.

Atallah most recently served as general manager of Regent Santa Monica Beach, where he led the opening of the first Regent property in North America and was named General Manager of the Year by the California Hotel & Lodging Association. His career spans more than 25 years in luxury hospitality, including over a decade with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and 11 years with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, with leadership roles in Palm Beach, Whistler, Maui, Vancouver and Scottsdale.

“Younes brings a deep understanding of complex luxury operations and a strong connection to this market,” Gray said. “His leadership will support The Global Ambassador as we continue building on its early success.”

With its executive team in place, Author & Edit Hospitality is positioned to expand across key U.S. markets in alignment with its brands and long-term vision. For more, visit AuthorandEdit.com.
