JE Dunn identifies Phoenix as top market for Advanced Facilities Group

National leading general contractor, JE Dunn Construction, has identified Phoenix as a strategic growth market for its Advanced Facilities Group (AFG), citing surging demand for mission critical, semiconductor and industrial facilities. To spearhead regional growth and further expand its semiconductor and industrial capabilities in the Southwest, the company has hired veteran Dave Yates as Vice President of AFG in Phoenix.

With $511.5 million in 2024 billings, JE Dunn’s Phoenix office has rapidly scaled to meet the demands of Arizona’s booming advanced industries economy. The company is currently delivering multiple complex projects across the region, including a high-profile hyperscale data center in Mesa.

“Phoenix has emerged as one of the fastest growing markets in the country for complex building projects and JE Dunn is committed to being at the forefront,” said Paul Neidlein, President of JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group. “From data centers to semiconductors and other advanced industrial manufacturing, we’re seeing continued growth across Arizona and we’re investing in the people and resources to meet that demand with the excellence JE Dunn is known for nationwide.”

As part of that investment, JE Dunn recently hired Dave Yates, a seasoned construction executive with more than 30 years of hands-on experience with a project portfolio that spans the full lifecycle of construction in high-tech facilities across the U.S. and abroad. A previous trade partner of JE Dunn’s, Yates spent much of his career delivering fast-paced, high-stakes facilities in complex environments, making him well suited to lead JE Dunn’s AFG growth in the Phoenix region.

“Transitioning to working for JE Dunn directly, embracing its company culture, and leveraging our collective experience working across all facets of the construction cycle in Phoenix and all over the globe, empowers me and my JE Dunn teammates to be indispensable business partners,” said Yates.

The JE Dunn Phoenix office, now in its second decade of operation, continues to grow its workforce and self-perform capabilities, ensuring it can support speed-to-market needs while navigating labor and supply chain pressures.

“As a top 10 ENR-ranked general contractor, we have the benefit of national reach with 26 offices nationwide, as well as deep roots firmly planted in Phoenix,” said Clay Creaser, Phoenix Office Leader of JE Dunn Construction. “We’re invested in Phoenix’s growth and focused on expanding our workforce with both local employees and travelers to meet the evolving needs of the advanced industries in this region. We’re approaching 20 years of calling Arizona home, but we’ve been building here since the nineties and pride ourselves on our extensive local expertise.”
