Scottsdale REALTORS installs 2023 leadership team

The Scottsdale REALTORS trade association installed a new leadership team, recognized its Leadership Academy Class 25 and presented special awards at a private ceremony on November 16.

2023 President Chris Nace, President-Elect Peggy Neely, Vice President Allison Cahill, Treasurer Stacey Krolak and Immediate Past President Sandy Lunsford were sworn in along with attending board members. New and returning board members for 2023 are Aaron Bils, Polly Blackwell, Allison Cahill, Riley Cilley, Jeff Dial, Allie Jennings, Polly Mitchell and Jessica Noble.

“Being sworn in by my designated broker, David MacIntyre, was an honor,” said Nace. “He has 60 years of real estate experience and inspires me every day.” Nace said one of his goals for 2023 is to reenergize the association’s Young Professionals Network or YPN. His 12-month term begins December 1, 2022.

Eighteen members of Scottsdale REALTORS® Leadership Class 25 were also recognized: Laurie Cairns, Amy Dox, Cyndi Dunham, Lauren Fitzpatrick, Alexander Gonzalez, Stacey Krolak, Kimberly MacDonald, Racquel Miller, Kendal Mohr, Greg Mona, Raquel Moriki, Brett Nicholas, Stefano Pecci, Tara Riley, Nolan Rucker, Rachel Tarman, Hannah Warde and Erin Young.

Presentations were then made for REALTOR® of the Year Shauna Huisman, Emerging REALTOR® of the Year Chey Tor, Commercial REALTOR® of the Year Pat Sheahan, Affiliate of the Year Helena Donahoe, Caring Heart Award winner Sabrina Walters and Citizen of the Year Christopher Groesbeck, landlord liaison for the City of Scottsdale.

CBRE announces 3 promotions in Phoenix

CBRE has announced that three professionals in its Phoenix office have achieved title promotions.

Cooper Fratt

Cooper Fratt has been promoted to Executive Vice President. He joined the firm in 2008 and is focused on industrial investment, building sales and industrial tenant representation and leasing. In the last five years, Mr. Fratt has closed more than 10 million sq. ft. of combined lease and sales transactions nearing $806 million in value.

Bryson Fricke

Bryson Fricke has been promoted to Senior Vice President. Mr. Fricke is a member of the Phoenix multifamily investment properties team. Since joining CBRE in 2018, he has supported the team in the marketing and sales of multifamily properties across the Valley. Mr. Fricke helps develop client relationships through thorough economic analysis, supporting them through acquisition and disposition.

Max Bippus

Max Bippus has been promoted to Senior Vice President. Since joining the company over 20 years ago, he has specialized in retail tenant and landlord representation and acquisition and disposition of retail properties. A trusted advisor to his clients, Mr. Bippus provides expert retail market analysis to identify and secure optimal locations.

Item 9 Labs Corp. appoints Mike Weinberger as CEO

With a transformative acquisition approaching, Item 9 Labs Corp. — a vertically integrated cannabis dispensary franchisor and operator that produces premium, award-winning products—announced a change to the leadership team. Chief Franchise Officer Mike Weinberger will become Chief Executive Officer—effective November 30, 2022—to lead the Company’s future as an international cannabis franchisor.

A 20-plus year franchise industry veteran, Weinberger launched Item 9 Labs Corp.’s dispensary franchise, Unity Rd., in 2018 and grew the brand to more than 20 entrepreneurial groups driving development across 10 states. In March 2021, he spearheaded the sale of Unity Rd.’s parent company, OCG Inc., to Item 9 Labs Corp. Today, the cannabis franchise has four stores open across three states – ColoradoOklahoma and South Dakota.

Prior to building the leader in the U.S. cannabis franchise space, Weinberger was the CEO of Maui Wowi—a global coffee and smoothie franchise with more than 500 units—and led its successful sale to Kahala Brands. Upon acquisition, his role shifted to  Brand President  and oversaw Kahala Brands’ nontraditional portfolio and growth strategies.

Sundt hires assistant project manager

Sundt Construction’s Building Group recently hired Samuel Lang as an assistant project manager in its Tempe office.

“Samuel brings great experience to Sundt,” said James Pullen, project executive. “As an employee-owned builder, Sundt is the perfect place for him to take his career to the next level.”

Lang joins the company with five years in the construction industry. His project experience totals over $2.5 billion in educational, infrastructure and residential projects. Lang has held titles of project engineer, senior project engineer and assistant project manager.

Lang graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in construction management.
