Elsa M. Landeros, senior attorney, Davis Miles

Background: Landeros, an Arizona native and three-time Sun Devil, completed her undergraduate, master’s, and law degrees from Arizona State University. As the daughter of small business owners,Landeros developed a passion for helping entrepreneurs. After earning her master’s from WP Carey School of Business, she worked as a consultant assisting clients with marketing and operational strategies.

Upcoming challenge: “Arizona faces a shortage of Spanish-speaking attorneys, particularly in business law and estate planning, despite Latinos being the most likely to start small businesses. This lack of legal guidance impacts both business success and the economy.  To help, I mentor aspiring law students, fostering diversity and expanding access to justice.”

Leadership lesson: “True leaders are servant leaders. Leadership isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about empowering others by understanding their challenges and guiding them to success.   By listening, mentoring, and supporting those around me, I empower them to succeed. This helps me build strong teams that drive meaningful impact.”

Surprising fact: “A surprising fact about me is that my parents are immigrant business owners. Growing up in that environment taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and the importance of supporting others in the community — lessons that have deeply influenced my approach to both law and leadership.”
