Larry Pobuda, Opus Development Company
Background: Pobuda is executive vice president and general manager at Opus, bringing over 30 years of development, investment, tenant representation and landlord experience. He leads the western markets, including Phoenix, where he is responsible for the pursuit of real estate development opportunities and defining their strategies and growth plans. Pobuda was co-founder and partner of Stewart Lawrence Group, an investment and development firm in Minneapolis.
Leadership style: “I’m a believer in authentic leadership. I am mission driven and solidly focused on results. I am genuine and honest — and seek to build trusting relationships with my work colleagues. Acknowledging the peaks and valleys of our business helps build emotional trust and confidence.”
Leadership values: “Honesty, hard work, demonstrating respect and having fun. I want people to bring their authentic self to the office which I believe enhances productivity. Mostly, I want our actions to speak louder than our words. Words are easy!”
Best actor to play you in a movie: “I’m not a movie guy and I’m hard pressed to even recognize Hollywood stars! My team laughs at my lack of pop culture, however, I love college football and the Michigan State Spartans. Former coach Mark Dantonio is someone I respect greatly – smart, intense, and competitive!”
