At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) giving back to the community isn’t a seasonal effort, it’s an important mission for the company all year round. In 2017, through its CARES Club initiative, more than 165 BCBSAZ employees have volunteered more than 2,250 hours supporting 24 charitable activities.
From drives to gather or purchase supplies for organizations including Arizona Humane Society, United Way, St. Mary’s Food Bank, to raising money to help UMOM New Day Center repair their building after a storm, BCBSAZ gives employees the opportunity to support the causes they are passionate about.
CARES Club is operated by a board of directors made up of BCBSAZ employee volunteers. The program empowers participants to get involved in the community and also improves relationships and communications among all employees. CARES Club is one of many ways BCBSAZ helps give back to the community to improve the lives of Arizonans.
