Social Media Day is coming to Phoenix (#SMDAYPHX) for the fourth annual celebration on June 28, 2014, but this time with a renewed vision under new leadership.
Social Media Day was created by social media giant Mashable in 2010 to celebrate the digital revolution, and has grown tremendously since its inception. Today, Social Media Day (#SMDay) has transformed into a worldwide celebration that is recognized by more than 100 countries, six continents and 17 U.S. cities.
On June 28 from 6-10 p.m., Valley social media enthusiasts, small business owners, media, marketing professionals and others will come together at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel to participate in relevant and useful content sessions and to enjoy an evening networking celebration. Content sessions are still in development and a full schedule of programming will be released in the next few weeks.
#SMDAYPHX is now being managed and coordinated by MoniQue Shaldjian, owner of QtheBrand, a Phoenix-based digital marketing company specializing in social media, SEO, web development and branding.
“Social media enthusiasts in Phoenix can expect an entirely new experience and format of Social Media Day this year,” said Shaldjian. “In taking over the event, we have listened to the comments from past year attendees about what they liked, didn’t like, and what they want to see in the future. We have created a condensed program that features fast-paced content sessions all full of information that attendees will be excited to participate in. We realize that attendees are not coming for basic ‘Facebook 101’ type content – rather, they want to engage in conversations about where social media is going, how new mediums are working or not working, and share experiences.”
