Also effective on July 1st is the start of the Chamber’s 2015-2016 Fiscal Year. According to the Chamber’s leadership, the organization will continue to provide popular programs and services, including public policy efforts, partnership through the East Valley Chambers of Commerce Alliance, roundtables with elected officials, workforce initiatives, referral teams, Chamber Chats, and the ambassador committee.

In an effort to further serve the community, additional programs and services will be introduced and developed. This will include the second class of Business Academy Growth Group, the launch of business growth webinars via the Small Business Council, and the inaugural class of the Tours for Teachers workforce readiness program. Tours for Teachers will aim to provide insight and resources for the educators serving Gilbert’s youth as they help prepare students for gainful employment by engaging both businesses and teachers in candid conversations. The new East Valley Docs program will continue to move forward; which features a website whereby local medical-related businesses can learn about and build partnerships with one another and will include industry-specific networking and training opportunities. The Partners In Progress committee will continue to foster partnerships to produce a series of career pathway videos that demonstrate the many career opportunities that exist and will provide a roadmap from high school to such careers.  The Chamber will also continue to host signature events, an important fundraising arm of the organization, and will introduce a community-wide opportunity for international travel.

“It is an exciting year ahead on all fronts,” states Kathy Tilque, CEO/President of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce. “Advocating for business and future workforce readiness top our priorities once again this year, along with helping companies grow their businesses.”
