John Hamilton, who serves as chief operating officer for Phoenix children’s Medical Group (PCMG), recently expanded his role to assume full operational responsibilities for PCMG. In this role he is responsible for the operations, including strategic development and financial management, for the nearly 300 employed physicians providing clinical services at Phoenix Children’s.
Hamilton joined Phoenix Children’s earlier this year from the Children’s hospital of the Kings Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia, where he served as vice president of physician practice management. Previously he worked for the Physicians’ Assurance Corporation and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, both in Columbus, OH.
He brings extensive experience in the operations of clinically integrated physician networks, managed care contracting and payer relations and will continue to strengthen PCMG and pursue new contacting strategies.
Hamilton attended Ohio University, earning both his undergraduate degree and a Masters in Health Administration. He has also held numerous memberships and associations over the years, including a membership to the American Academy of Pediatrics, Ohio Chapter.
