Littlejohn Engineering Associates announced the addition of John Tuter, PE, as senior project manager in its Phoenix office. John will be responsible for leading the office’s public sector practice. John has more than 25 years of civil engineering experience with an emphasis in the planning and design of multi-faceted, multi-functional projects ranging from major transportation projects to residential and commercial development. His experience includes more than 10 years in the Phoenix metropolitan area providing project management and design services for city, county, and state agencies.
LEA established a presence in the Phoenix area more than two years ago through a merger with the Arizona-based civil engineering firm of Evans, Kuhn, and Associates to better serve its existing client base in the Southwest. Ross Lucas, Southwest Region Manager at LEA, says “John will help us attain several key strategic objectives in this region. His experience and reputation allow us to better serve multiple municipal and public-sector clients in the greater Phoenix area and we will also rely on John’s diverse background and expertise to better serve our existing clients. He understands public infrastructure in this region and will be a valuable resource to our clients in many markets.”
John’s recent projects include planning, design concept reports and engineering of major arterial roadways and associated infrastructure including water, sewer and dry utility relocations. As a Project Manager, John’s key Arizona governmental clients have included Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Mesa, Avondale and Surprise. John is excited to demonstrate LEA’s culture and offer his clients the resources of such a diverse planning and engineering firm. John adds, “Every project completed by LEA (and Evans Kuhn) has an overlap of public and private infrastructure. I’m excited to bring my public experience to LEA and lay the foundation for successful public sector practice in Arizona. I look forward to providing quality service to my clients as well as establishing strong relationships with new clients.”
John has a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri. He is a registered Civil Engineering in Arizona and Kansas. John is an active member of the American Public Works Association (Arizona Chapter), Arizona Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Highway Engineers (Sonoran Chapter) and American Council of Engineering Companies of Arizona.
