Alliance Residential awarded Green Business Leader Platinum Certification

Alliance Residential Company, the fourth largest multifamily manager and one of the most active developers in the nation, has been awarded a Platinum level Phoenix Green Business Leader certification from the City of Phoenix. Alliance is the first multifamily company in Phoenix to achieve the Green Business Leader certification, earning the highest designation.

Alliance Residential will be recognized for the Green Business Leader achievement at an upcoming special event with the Phoenix Mayor and City Council members.

“We are honored to be the first multifamily company in Phoenix to receive this certification,” said Kelly Vickers, vice president of corporate social responsibility. “Waste reduction and sustainability are ingrained in our company culture and we strive to be a green company in every sense, encouraging sustainable efforts in both our professional endeavors and the personal lives of our employees.”

The City of Phoenix Green Business Leader certification program is designed to support sustainability in Phoenix and recognize local businesses dedicated to reducing waste and supporting other green initiatives with three levels of certifications. The program began through the Reimagine Phoenix initiative, which is the city’s public goal to increase its waste diversion rate to 40 percent by 2020. It’s also designed to assist the city in reaching its eight overarching 2050 Environmental Sustainability goals

Aeroseal America launches commercial service line

Aeroseal America, which has provided a patented technology to seal ductwork for residential clients for 3 years, has launched a commercial component to service a new line of clientele.

Aeroseal America’s new service line will provide testing and sealing of ductwork for HVAC systems in light commercial properties. Aeroseal America’s technology involves sealing ductwork from the inside.

Leading the company is Pat Farrell, whose experience includes owning and operating an energy assessment company, Power Down America. He founded it in 2009 after making improvements to his own home and realizing the immediate impact in comfort and savings.

“I quickly realized that duct leakage is a major problem in the Arizona housing market,” Farrell said. “The conventional way to seal duct systems is to have someone crawl through the attic, which can run 150-plus degrees during the summer, and seal all of the joints and connections with a paste called mastic.

“Because of space restrictions, ducts running through soffits, and flat roofs with no attic access, reaching all of those joints and connections can be impossible. Aeroseal solves that problem,” Farrell said.

Hughes wins CUNA awards for 10th year in a row

Hughes Federal Credit Union received three Diamond Awards from the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network of more than 1,200 credit union professionals from around the country.

The Diamond Awards are CUNA’s top honors, recognizing outstanding marketing and business development achievements in the credit union industry. The awards were presented to Hughes on March 22 at the Council’s 26th annual conference held in Las Vegas, NV.

Hughes was recognized in three categories: One-time Event; Brand Awareness; and Point of Sale Display & Retail Merchandising. The winning entries include the Hughes Shred-A-Thon event, the Mobile Moments campaign and the hi-tech retail features at Hughes’ Vail branch located in the Houghton Town Center.

“It’s a great honor to be recognized on a national scale for our marketing efforts for 10 consecutive years,” said Kellie Terhune Neely, Vice President of Marketing at Hughes. “Our continued success relies on the talent of our retail banking team and the excellent service they provide to our members.”

The Hughes Shred-A-Thon aimed at helping prevent identity theft by shredding over 20,000 pounds of sensitive documents, saving the community over $20,000 in shredding costs.

The Mobile Moments campaign focused on informing members of the time-saving advantages of mobile banking, using email and social media marketing to encourage mobile app downloads. Over 135,000 people were reached and mobile app registrations increased by 65 percent.
