Grimaldi’s donates more than $1M to No Kid Hungry

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria raised more than $192,000 this year through its fundraising initiatives, including the annual Dine Out for No Kid Hungry campaign and charity golf tournament, bringing the company’s total donations to No Kid Hungry to more than $1 million to date.

Since Grimaldi’s partnership with the nonprofit began in 2013, the pizzeria has helped supply over 10 million meals in 7 years. For each dollar raised, No Kid Hungry is able to provide 10 meals to hungry children across the U.S.

In September, guests who dined at any location received a bounce-back card to match donations in increments of $5, up to a total of $25 per visit. On October 11, Grimaldi’s hosted its second annual sold-out charity golf tournament at the Westin Kierland Golf Club benefiting No Kid Hungry.

The Holistic Center expands

The Holistic Center (THC) is celebrating a larger and more inviting location with a grand opening event, Sat., Nov. 23, 2019. The dispensary promises to debunk the public’s view of how qualified medical cannabis patients access products and treatments. The public event will take place from 12 p.m. to 4:20 p.m. and feature food trucks, music, games, discounts/raffles, product vendors and on-site medical marijuana certifications.

“The Holistic Center believes all legal patients have the right to safe access of alternative medical treatment and therapies,” said Josh Gile, THC store manager. “Patients should feel comfortable and welcome to engage their pursuits in a safe and secure environment.”

The new THC facility will be bright and airy with a color palette of white, orange and glass esthetics. Patients can view product options in a setting similar to a jewelry store or beauty counter. THC “budtenders” will focus on providing a compassionate customer service experience while being educated in all product options. The Holistic Center’s storefront is 2,000 square feet plus 1,000 square feet of office space to allow the company to offer a wider variety of brands and products to choose from.

“By expanding The Holistic Center to a less intimidating, more educational and visual practice of purchasing medical marijuana, we can help many more people in the Valley,” said Gile. “Customers will benefit from an increase in not only product options, but more budtenders and cash registers to streamline the checkout process. We want to provide an experience like no other dispensary in the Valley.”
