Sonora Quest Labs launches new collection services

Sonora Quest Laboratories, Arizona’s largest integrated laboratory system, has announced the availability of a new mobile sample collection service available in Maricopa County. The service provides consumers the option to schedule an appointment to have a Sonora Quest phlebotomist come to their home or place of business to perform blood collection for lab testing.

“This new service is another example of Sonora Quest’s commitment to making access to high quality lab services more convenient and timely for Arizonans. We are the only full-service lab in Arizona providing this service directly to consumers and patients,” said Christina Noble, Chief Growth Officer at Sonora Quest. “This initiative will greatly benefit patients that have difficulties in visiting our locations, helping them receive the testing needed to better manage their health for improved outcomes.”

Patients will now have an option to select a time and location for Sonora Quest to come to them for sample collection as opposed to the traditional collection performed in Sonora Quest’s patient service centers. Mobile services are also a great solution for homebound customers who may be unable to travel to a patient service center, as well as for pediatric or special needs patients who may be more comfortable with sample collection performed in the comfort and privacy of their home.

This service is available for blood tests ordered by physicians, or ordered directly by consumers without a doctor’s order through Sonora Quest’s My Lab ReQuest offering. As the demand grows, Sonora Quest expects to expand this new service to other Arizona markets including Tucson, Flagstaff and Prescott. The mobile service may be covered by some insurance plans, although insurance is not required. When not covered, this service is available with prepayment of $60. Customers can schedule an appointment on any device at SonoraQuest.com or schedule by phone by calling 602-685-5000 and selecting option 5.

Offerpad opens new headquarters

On Thursday, real estate tech leader Offerpad threw a Welcome Home party in honor of the company’s move into its new custom-designed headquarters. The event included remarks from Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, Representative Jeff Weninger, Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke, and Offerpad CEO Brian Bair.

In addition to the talks, Offerpad toured over 150 visitors in small groups throughout the new, state-of-the- art office. There were homemade refreshments and plenty of mingling time where prominent members of the community and Offerpad employees became acquainted. The day’s event culminated in a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open Offerpad’s new home.

Governor Ducey, who signed Representative Weninger’s PropTech sandbox bill in March to encourage real estate tech innovation, acknowledged, “Arizona is becoming a premier destination for tech innovators and Offerpad is building on that reputation. Arizona is going to continue making sure innovative businesses like Offerpad can grow and thrive here for years to come.”

Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke said, “I am delighted that Offerpad has chosen to keep their East Valley roots by expanding in Chandler. Chandler is known as the Innovation and Technology Hub of the Southwest because of the many innovative companies who have chosen to plant roots in our city, and I look forward to working with Offerpad as they continue to revolutionize the real estate industry.”

From Arizona originally, Offerpad moved its corporate hub from Gilbert to neighboring Chandler in Phoenix’s East Valley in March. The company designed the new office with custom features to meet its needs and brand identity. The modern space aims to provide employees a great day-to-day experience in a collaborative environment while highlighting Offerpad’s mission and core values. The new layout is nearly 40,000 square feet — more than tripling the size of the company’s previous space.

“This is a milestone that marks the tremendous growth Offerpad has experienced since we got started less than four years ago. Over the past two years, employee growth has increased almost 400 percent. Our new headquarters is great for us internally and it will help us continue to innovate real estate solutions for consumers around the country,” said Offerpad founder and CEO, Brian Bair.

Rosendin brings solar power to Arizona camp

Rosendin, the electrical contracting industry’s largest employee-owned firm with offices in Tempe, Arizona, was announced recently as the new solar partner for Camp Colley, a summer adventure camp located on the Mogollon Rim in northern Arizona. As the camp’s solar partner, Rosendin will ensure that the camp and its facilities have consistent power to operate the camp.

“When we were introduced to Camp Colley, we were instantly drawn to their mission to help kids realize their full potential through fun and innovative STEM (science technology, engineering and math) programming,” said Brandon Stephens, Division Manager at Rosendin. “Initiatives like Camp Colley will help create the Rosendin employees of tomorrow, so it’s a win-win to partner with the camp to ensure they have the resources they need to succeed and engage today’s youth in a variety of STEM opportunities.”

Camp Colley immerses youth in nature while engaging them in leadership and recreational experiences, taking them out of everyday stressful environments where air, noise, light and automation pollution hinder opportunities for them to experience their full-range of capabilities. The camp is owned, operated, and funded by the City of Phoenix, Camp Colley Foundation, and Tonto Creek Camp. Camp Colley is unique in that it also offers full and partial scholarships to help disadvantaged kids experience the camp.

“Camp Colley was founded on the belief that every child should have a chance to experience nature in its purest form. For this reason, the camp is entirely off the grid and self-sustaining, with power provided by solar power and a backup propane generator,” said Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego. “We are so pleased to have Rosendin as Camp Colley’s new solar partner, as their support allows us to have even more kids experience the wonders of camp and northern Arizona’s nature.”

In addition to Rosendin’s maintenance efforts at Camp Colley, the company may also send current employees to the camp to teach classes for the campers, including showing them how solar power works, setting up electrical experiments, and other STEM projects to further inspire youth to consider a STEM career.
