Commercial real estate veteran joins Kidder Mathews
Commercial real estate veteran, Karl Abert, has joined Kidder Mathews’ Phoenix office where he has been named a senior vice president. Abert specializes in multifamily investment sales in the Phoenix market.
Abert has over 25 years of commercial real estate experience. Before joining Kidder Mathews, he was a top producer with Newmark Knight Frank, ARA Newmark.
Over the past 60 months, he has facilitated transaction sales in excess of $250 million. Clients he has represented include Birtcher Anderson, Brookhill Corporation, First Financial Bank and Interurban Communities.
Kidder Mathews is the largest independently owned commercial real estate firm on the West Coast, with over 700 real estate professionals and staff in 21 offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona.
Fennemore Craig announces practice group chair
Fennemore Craig, a leading Mountain West business law firm, announced C.W. Ross, a partner in the firm’s Phoenix office, has been appointed the new practice group chair of the firm’s business and finance practice.

Ross practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, entity formation, contract law and securities law. He represents entrepreneurs and start-up companies in a variety of corporate matters, including formation and organization of entities, joint ventures, licensing, contract reviews and contract negotiations.
Ross earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.A. from Brigham Young University.
Christine Zeihen named to APLA board
Industry leader Christine Zeihen, President/Commercial Mortgage Broker at OPM Capital in Phoenix, has been elected to the board of directors of the Arizona Private Lender Association (APLA).
APLA serves the needs of Arizona private money lenders who provide loans secured by real estate with funds from private sources. Its mission is to represent, promote, and foster the business of bringing private capital to Arizona for real estate projects.
“It’s an honor to be on the board of such a well-positioned organization, and APLA provides me the opportunity to expand my capital database to meet client needs here in Arizona,” said Zeihen, also Principal and Designated Broker at Biltmore Realty Advisors.
Zeihen possesses more than 30 years of experience in operations and transactions in all areas of commercial real estate including entitlements, due diligence, acquisitions, development, financial, brokerage, management, and disposition of master-planned resort communities, retail shopping centers, and single tenant net developments.
Barron’s names Trevor Wilde among Top 10 advisors
